You probably studied a foreign language in high school and college to get those mandatory credits needed for your degree, but have you kept up with your skills?

As our culture in America continues to grow more and more diverse, the need for bilingual (or even multilingual employees) is on the rise. According to the 2010 American Community Survey conducted by the US Census Bureau, Spanish is the primary language spoken at home by almost 37 million people aged five or older.

Summer is over, the skies are gray, and you’re having trouble getting back in the groove. Here are a few small tips to help you get back on the ride towards productivity!

Clean your desk. Cleaning doesn’t have to be just for spring. Clean out your drawers and redecorate your work space.  We all hear that most jobs (75% to 85%, reportedly) are not advertised in the newspaper or posted on web job boards. These invisible jobs are the infamous "hidden job market," and you gain knowledge of the jobs by networking your way into them.  As I thought about the importance of networking; not only to obtain employment but as a natural approach and discipline to developing ones career I did some research on how much “self-help” guides, books, seminars, boot camps, online discussion groups  an individual can leverage; in fact I could reference 4,951 web sites with just one search effort! Wow... a little overwhelming yet why so much attention?
