What are the pro's and con's to using a Recruiter in your career search?
It's obvious which side of the fence I'm going to fall on in this debate.....obviously there are some major pro's to using a GOOD recruiter. Think of recruiters like your CAREER AGENT, we do this for a living and while we get paid for it, there are some advantages to the candidate and to the client, otherwise we wouldn't be in business.
I could list all the PRO's to using a Recruiter in a career search, instead, I'll take the neutral route and leave that list up to your individual discretion. I will say the challenge lies in WHO you use as your Career Agent. It's not as easy as spreading your resume around to every agency in the market....that approach can give you a bad reputation and the GOOD recruiters won't want to work with you.
If you don't need a Recruiter to help you in your search, that's bound to happen, we can't help everyone. However, to take your career to the next level a GOOD Recruiter is most often the best way to increase your chances of success.
